How do I make it as a fashion designer?
I like to design and make clothes especially formal wear like wedding/bridesmaid and prom dresses and I really want to make my own line but what do I need to do in order to do that and where do I need to live? Do I need to go to New York or LA or what? Plus do you have to get a degree in order to start your own business? I really don’t think I need to go to school since I already know how to design and make my clothes.
Tough business; very competitive. But don’t be discouraged. You can do anything you set your mind to. I highly recommend internships. Be prepared to start at the bottom and work your way up. Learn as much as you can and you will be successful! Yes, NY and LA are the hubs of the industry; be prepared to go/live there.
