T h e D o v e A d P r o j e c t Hearty thanks to everyone who donated to this project and who worked for it! We have been successful beyond our dreams! In September a first round of ads appeared in religious periodicals like the Christian Century, the National Catholic Reporter, Sojourners and other publications. Now we are in our final phase. On Sunday, October 24, a 1/4 page Dove Ad appeared on the Op Ed page of the New York Times. We also had similar ads in the A section of the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. On Thursday, October 28, we placed a full-page ad in two Ohio newspapers, the Columbus Dispatch and the Dayton Daily News. Watch this space for where we go from here. We have broken the silence. Let's keep going!
A Call to Recover America's Moral Character We
are Christians from different communions. We grieve that our nation is not standing for “liberty and justice for all,” nor treating Iraqis as we would be treated. We believe that accountability begins at home, that wise leaders know their mistakes, and that honest leaders admit them. Fear and resentment will never guide us to a just and lasting peace. Any nation that hopes to be “under God” must live for a positive vision of world community, not a blind response to terrorism that tragically makes others see us as if we were terrorists ourselves.
It is time for full accountability. And time to face reality about the war. Initiating Endorsers : James J. Buckley (Loyola College in Maryland), Mark S.
